Fuzzy Logic Applications in Mobile Robotics
In this chapter several approaches for the application of fuzzy logic to autonomous mobile robots are considered. Many researchers have pointed out the interest of fuzzy logic for mobile robot control. Fuzzy logic has been used to consider the inaccuracy of the sensor and, in general, the uncertainties due to the limitations in the perception system. Moreover, it is useful to express control commands and navigation strategies in a qualitative way. The ability to interpolate between sensor readings and discrete control actions is also a very interesting property.
